Today has been an eventful Thanksgiving with family, food, and early Black Friday shopping. Is there any better way to wind down than in my Star Wars PJs, in bed, writing about my favorite Disney things? No. No there is not. There are Fifty questions total (if you didn't gather that from the title) so I'll try to be as brief as I can on as many questions as I can. Let's get going!
1. Favorite scene in a princess movie?
Probably Cinderella's dress transformation. It's so darn magical and it was also Walt's favorite scene. So there's that.
2. Favorite scene in a non-princess movie?
The scene in Tarzan with all of the colorful birds and Phil Collins' beautiful song in the background and Jane and Tarzan are falling in love. It's so great.
3. Last Disney movie you watched?
MOANA I SAW IT YESTERDAY AND CRIED TWICE OMGOODNESS IT WAS BEAUTIFUL 10/10 5 GOLD STARS
4. Is your family Disney obsessed?
I don't think they would call themselves obsessed, but they do love Disney. They would, however, without a doubt say that I am straight up addicted to Disney.
5. How many times have you visited the parks?
I believe eight times that I can remember, but when I was younger and we annual passes, we went all the time!
6. Which park is your favorite?
I have such a problem with this question. It's either Magic Kingdom or Epcot for sure. I just can't choose! Magic Kingdom is obviously very, well, magical, but I have so many great memories in Epcot and I love it when Spaceship Earth is lit up at night. But Magic Kingdom is where it's at, you know? I'm just calling it a tie and no one can stop me.
7. Cinderella's castle or Sleeping Beauty's castle?
Cinderella's castle all the way.
8.Favorite animal themed movie?
The Brother Bear movies. I feel like they're the most underrated Disney movies but I have always loved them. The scenery is beautiful, it's hilarious, and even in the second movie there's a love story and it's adorable. In fact, stop what you're doing, don't even read the rest of this post, and go watch both of the Brother Bear movies. Your life will be changed.
9. Favorite Disney movie from the 1950s?
Johnny Tremaine. I kind of have a weird obsession with the American Revolution. Plus, the Sons of Liberty song always gets stuck in my head.
10. Favorite Disney movie from the 1960s?
The Sword in the Stone. Everyone loves a good underdog story and this one in particular cracks me up.
11. Favorite Disney movie from the 1970s?
Robin Hood. The music is so good and Robin Hood is a cinnamon roll too pure for this world.
12. Favorite Disney movie from the 1980s?
I would have to say The Little Mermaid. I love the classic Disney princess movies, and I love that singing is Ariel's thing because I also love singing. A close second would be Oliver and Company for sure.
13. Favorite Disney movie from the 1990s?
HOW am I supposed to FLIPPING pick?!? Disney was very busy in the 90s I will tell you what. I can't possibly choose so I'm just going to narrow it to my top three which are Aladdin, Hercules, and a Goofy Movie. Again, I refuse to narrow it.
14. Favorite Disney movie from the 2000s?
I'm going to go with The Princess and the Frog even though there were some very close seconds (Haunted Mansion, POTC, and Sky High I'm looking at you). I love the music, the setting of New Orleans, and, again, the love story. What can I say?
15. Favorite Disney movie from the 2010s?
Tangled will forever and always be my favorite. Rapunzel is a dreamer, she's creative, and stands up for herself. Also, not gonna lie, I have a tiny crush on Zachary Levi, who plays Flynn Rider. The music in this movie is amazing as well and um HELLO. Two words: Lantern. Scene.
16. Favorite non-human character?
The Genie. I love his humor and his support for Aladdin. Plus, Robin Williams was and is amazing which makes the Genie even better. Friend Like Me is also my jam.
17. If you could trade lives with one character, who would it be and why?
This is such a hard question. I feel like I would have to say Pinocchio for the sole reason of knowing what it feels like to have my nose grow.
18. First Disney oriented memory?
Watching Treasure Planet at night on the living room floor of our house in Hawaii. I remember really loving the movie but I've only seen it once since then and don't remember many of the movie's details.
19. Would you get married and/or have your honeymoon in one of the parks?
um. Is this even a questions?? OF COURSE I WOULD.
20.If you could date one of the characters, who would it be and why?
You would think it would be Flynn Rider because of my formerly mentioned crush on Zachary Levi, but I don't know I feel like I want to say Hercules because he's so stinking sweet or Naveen because he's just great and has the whole accent thing going on ya know? So if I could somehow date all three, that'd be great, thanks.
21. Would you name one of your children after a character?
Yes absolutely! I'm already planning on it, I just don't know what name to use. I kind of like Belle, Flynn, or Aunna. That's all I can think of at the time, but there will be some sort of Disney in their names.
22. Favorite villain?
Hades. Partially because he's hilarious, partially because the musical theatre class at my dance studio did a production of Hercules where I was Hercules and my sister was Hades. So, I might be biased, but whatever.
23. If you could have two different characters from different movies meet, who would they be and why?
Aunna and Rapunzel is the obvious choice so I'm just gonna say Todd and Nick Wilde and Robin Hood. I bent the rules a little and threw an extra fox in there, but they're the same animal with very different personalities. it would be really interesting to see them interact with each other. Bonus: they're each from one of my favorite Disney movies.
24. Are there any characters that didn't have a romance that you wish had?
Speaking of Nick Wilde (yeah, I'm going there), would it be super weird if Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps had gotten together? I think it'd be kind of cute but I may be the only one. If so, don't mind me, I'm just a freaky little weird girl who sometimes wonders how bunny/fox babies would be animated.
25. Favorite sequel?
Besides Brother Bear 2 (which I didn't realize had Mandy Moore AKA Rapunzel in it until recently), I guess I would say either Lion King II or Lion King 1 1/2. I love Lion King II because I love seeing Simba's daughter and his life all grown up and the parallels between The Lion King and this movie. And Lion King 1 1/2 cracks me up because of Timon and Pumba's commentary and the all-around cleverness of the movie.
26. Least favorite sequel?
Probably Mulan II. The songs get stuck in my head a lot and parts of the movie are really sweet, but Shang does not act like himself, and I'm pretty sure a lot of the voice actors are different which is a downer. Also, not only is it not the best quality but it gives you a huge scare thinking Shang is dead and all that jazz. So, Mulan II is a no go for me.
27. Have you ever met any of the characters at the park?
Yes. Too many to count!
28. Favorite live action Disney movie?
It was POTC, but currently it's Cinderella! I love it so much and it's magical and beautiful and not to mention that Lily James is absolutely gorgeous.
29. Favorite soundtrack?
Any soundtrack from the parks/shows/parades. It makes me feel like I'm actually in Disney and gets me through the day.
30. What are your top three favorite Disney songs?
I'm glad I wasn't asked to name my favorite because how the heck am I supposed to do that?? My top three in no particular order would be How Far I'll Go, God Help the Outcasts, and I2I.
31. Mickey or Minnie?
Mickey
32. Which Disney movie do you think is overrated?
Frozen, even though I think everyone knows this. But that doesn't mean I love it any less.
33. Which Disney movie do you think is underrated?
I think we've already established how I feel about Brother Bear.
34. If you could be a face character in the parks, who would you be and why?
Rapunzel, because she's so bubbly and happy which is how I am anyways, plus I love her. If not Rapunzel, then a fur character because if I get tired of talking or smiling or making my face do things, I would just have to do big motions which I might be able to handle better. But then again, I think I'd be too excited either way to be a character in Disney to lose energy.
35. If you could be in any scene from a Disney movie, what would it be and why?
When Wendy, John, Michael, and Peter Pan are all flying to Neverland. I think that would be so flipping magical and such a surreal moment.
36.Which Disney movie do you find the most nostalgic?
Personally, it's Finding Nemo. It reminds me of when I was younger and we would fly from Hawaii to Florida to go to Disney and visit my grandparents and we had Finding Nemo coloring books on the plane. Also, the song beyond the sea reminds me of all of the Disney cruises I've been on which have so many good memories.
37. Favorite Pixar movie?
Cars. I love how even though the characters are cars, they seem so human in what they say and do. The character development is outstanding, Mater is great, and I totally ship McQueen and Sally.
38. Least favorite Pixar movie?
Wall-E. There's nothing wrong with it necessarily, it's just not a feel good movie for me. It actually makes me a little sad. Wall-E was all alone and everyone got fat. I don't hate it, but it's not my first choice.
39. Are there any Disney movies you haven't seen?
Besides all the obscure ones from way back when, I haven't seen the Rescuers or the Rescuers Down Under and I've only seen a little bit of The Great Mouse Detective.
40. Is there a scene or a movie that makes you cry?
I don't know if i mentioned earlier, but I cried twice during Moana so...
Other than that, when Todd gets dropped off in the woods in Fox and the Hound I tear up a little.
41. Is there a song that makes you cry?
You'll be in my heart from Tarzan. Does this song not make anyone cry?
42. Favorite Disney prince?
Naveen, Aladdin, or Flynn. I think i've established this.
43. Which character do you relate to the most?
Probably Rapunzel (wow, surprise surprise) because she has a dream. She wants what she wants and she goes after it even though there are obstacles and she has a crazy fake mother who tries to capture her and keep her for her hair forever. I don't relate to that part so much, but I'm a dreamer like she is. My head is always in the clouds and I have big ideas for what I want to do in my life. I'll just be chasing my floating lights until I get there.
44. Do you own any Disney-themed clothing?
Yes, my collection is growing and my plan is to own nothing but Disney clothing and then soon hopefully turn into a Disney clothing item. Amen.
45. Favorite Villain song?
Be prepared or Friends on the Other Side.
46. Most iconic kiss?
Okay, favorite and iconic are different. I feel like the most iconic kiss is either Auroras or Snow White's kisses with Philip and the prince (or Ferdinand?) that woke them from their eternal slumbers. But my favorite IS AUNNA AND KRISTOFF OR FLYNN AND RAPUNZEL OKAY? OKAY.
47. Favorite sidekick?
Terk and Tantor from Tarzan.
48. Favorite princess and why?
If you haven't picked up on the fact that Rapunzel is my favorite princess, then you're straight up tripping. She's the best and I was her for Halloween two years ago.
49.Funniest Disney scene?
When Lilo goes on and on about how she ran out of peanut butter and Nani gave her a tuna sandwich and do you know what tuna is it's fish if she gave Pudge tuna she's be an abomination.
50. What's your favorite Disney movie and why?
My favorite disney movie is Peter Pan. The whole idea of faith, trust, and pixie dust is from this movie. Not only that, but Tinkerbell, introduced in Peter Pan as well is a vital contributor to the Disney magic The saying "never grow up" coined from Peter Pan is embodied in the Disney parks where you become a kid again and have childlike faith in magic. Disney is the place that you can always come back to. Whether "Disney" to you is the parks, the songs, or your fellow disnerds, it's always waiting for you...second star to the right, and straight on 'til morning.
Never Stop Dreaming,
Nicole
